I love to swim, and have been doing so since about 2nd grade. My passion started due to swim lessons I was taking in summer camp - when I realized how much fun swimming was. It soon became a passion of mine, and I eventually joined my local swim team in 7th grade.
I have been in love with space forever, and love anything to do with the subject. I follow most astronomical events and rocket launches that occur. In my free time I love to stargaze, and want to one day work at NASA - on the technology side, of course!
I love to read, it's one thing that I will do whenever I have free time. The number of books and series I have read are countless, and it's impossible for me to pick just one favorite, but one of the books I've read more recently that I really liked was "They Both Die at the End" by Adam Silvera. The name seems like a giveaway for the end, but a story is all about the journey not the destination, isn't it?
My love of poetry comes thanks to my 7th grade English teacher, who inspired me to start writing poems. I immediately fell in love with the way you could express everything you were feeling in unconventional ways. My high school has a poetry competition every year, and I have participated both years I have attended. The group of commpetitiors are a great community of friends who all trusted one another with our deepest feelings.
Robotics is a newer interest of mine, but I love how different technology and engineering groups can come together to build one supermachine. I have been on a First Robotics team for the past year, and though we were supposed to compete this spring, competitions unfortunately were canceled due to COVID-19.
This is also a more recent hobby, which really spiked during quarantine when I had endless hours to fill! It's been challenging, with many burnt cakes and undercooked food, but it's been a fun learning experience!
